Surveys
From the interviews conducted, we intend to prove our claims which highlight the negative impact the school has on the lives of its students. For the study, 8 questions were posed in order to broaden the perspective of the text previously presented, providing a perception of the school reality beyond the concept that is held from the point of view of the government and institutions.
Eighty-four students between the ages of 12 and 16 were interviewed, all of whom attend the same educational institution. For high school students (our target audience), this institution claims to be based on the development of critical and analytical thinking in order for them to learn to interpret and relate to the world effectively.
1. Do you think your school encourages you to think independently?

Quantitative analysis:
In this question 84 students answered, which 44(52.4%) of them answered NO, and 40(47.6%) answered YES.
2. How accepted are different opinions in your student environment?

3. Have you ever felt violated by any member of the educational community?

Qualitative analysis:
The majority of young people testify that they have felt harmed by a member of their school community. Qualitative analysis:
According to the graph not many students enjoy attending school and more specifically at this stage, the reason they are not happy at school is because of what they learn? what does it teach them? or suddenly how do they teach them? According to Epicurus "The key to a happy life is to accumulate as much pleasure as possible and reduce as much pain as possible". Based on this idea, is the problem that schools use methodologies that do not reduce pain? or will the problem be... Doesn't school contribute to a pleasant life?
Quantitative analysis:
There were 84 answers to this question, in which 1(1.2%) answered 1, 6(7.1%) to 2, 1(1.2%) to 3, 30(35.7%) to 4, 2(2.4%) to 5, 5(6%) to 6, 10(11.9%) to 7, 7(8.3%) to 8, 13(15.5%) to 9, and 9(10.7%) to 10.
5. Do you think your school educates you to live, think, love and communicate?

Qualitative analysis:
They are not only withdrawn from thinking autonomously but they are also isolated from these four fundamentals, so indispensable in the life of the individual, of the citizen, of the worker and of being in a community. What is more important than learning to love, to live together, to communicate and to think? And although they are the basis of a prosperous personal growth, they are not educated to be good at doing it, and this may be because the true purpose of school is not to promote this growth or to encourage the best.
Quantitative analysis:
In this question, 44(52.4%) of the students answered NO, and 40(47.6) answered YES, having 84 answers in total.
6. What are the main aspects of your school's education (reading comprehension, memorization of concepts, analysis, obedience, dynamism)?

Based on these answers we can evidence that the tools and dynamics of learning such as: reading comprehension, memorization of concepts, analysis and research are raised under the idea and in order to transmit information.
Unfortunately, the current dynamics are not proposed to verify the understanding of the concepts or topics or how they will be used in the student's life, in order to contribute to their daily environment. A great incongruence on the part of the institutions is to affirm that they ratify the understanding of the topics by the fact that they force their students to present exams that really only evaluate their ability to retain the information learned, but, they leave aside a fundamental factor, the grades do not verify the knowledge.
7. Do you feel that your opinions or ideas are valued at school?

Qualitative analysis:
The majority of young people who answered the form affirm that their opinions or ideas are not valued in school. Therefore it is evident that the institutions do not respect divergent thoughts, in addition to not teaching students to value new proposals and ideas. Above all, as stated in an article by the pedagogue and founder of the Merani Institute, Julián de Zubiría; "The school has to teach us to live with those who are different from us because they have different races, languages, religions, cultures, strata, genders or sexual inclinations." In addition to declaring, "We need the school to become a space in which we develop interests and strengthen autonomy and solidarity."
Quantitative analysis:
This question obtained 84 answers, of which 46(54.8%) of the students answered NO, and 38(45.2%) of them answered YES.
8. Do you feel that what you are taught at school is useful for life?

Qualitative analysis:
With this question it can be seen that many of the students do not consider that the topics they see daily can be useful for life. Indeed, it confirms our statement about educational institutions and how they are educating children for the past, that is, as an article from the School of Industrial Organization (EOI) states. Schools "continue to give the same subjects but with different names that half a decade ago. " This reflects that today's young people are not and do not feel prepared to face the problems of society.
Quantitative analysis:
In this question, 50(59.5%) of the students selected NO, and 34(40.5%) selected YES, having a total of 84 answers.
